Cafe right at home
Vanessa and Justin, our repeat clients, wanted to infuse their existing home with a cafe theme. We’re familiar with home bars, but a home cafe was a new concept that we were eager to explore.
Vanessa and Justin, our repeat clients, wanted to infuse their existing home with a cafe theme. We’re familiar with home bars, but a home cafe was a new concept that we were eager to explore.
For us, it wasn’t enough for the home to look like a cafe — it needed to function like one too. So we transformed the area into a pantry complete with a coffee maker and wine chiller.
The cement accent wall provided a tasty contrast in the modern home and gave it an industrial touch.
The assortment of plants and decorative items were inspired by hipster cafe designs.
Vanessa felt that the original kitchen area lacked storage space; we added full-height cabinets for her to stow clutter.
The glass panel served as a unique separator between the living room and kitchen; it made the kitchen look like two separate spaces from the living room.
Justin loves to cook, so we installed a large countertop to give him space to prepare ingredients.
He can also easily access the fridge from the countertop. Prepping meals will now be a breeze.
We made a new study area in place of the original dining area. The see-through glass walls of the study area contributed to the feeling of openness in the home.
More full-height cabinets made it such that storage space issues became a thing of the past.
We had lots of fun doing this project. We hope it inspired you too.
If you have any designs for your dream home, we'd love to hear from you.
